Maksim Dimitrievski

Mayor of Kumanovo

Maksim Dimitrievski was born on November 29, 1975, in Kumanovo.

He has been the mayor of Kumanovo since 2017. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the American University of Europe - FON, Skopje, and is an author of several professional and academic papers: “The role of local self-government in a state of emergency and crisis, in conditions of an epidemic regarding the Мunicipality of Kumanovo”; “Municipal committee for protection and rescue in epidemic conditions”; “Total tax revenues and expenditures in the units of local self-government regarding the Municipality of Kumanovo”; and co-author of “The role of local self-government in dealing with the consequences of covid-19 in education“.

Before being elected mayor, he held the position of Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee, Member of the Legislative and Legal Commission, Deputy Member of the Commission for Elections and Appointments, Deputy Member of the Commission for Political System and Relations between communities, Deputy member of the Commission for Local Self-Government, Deputy member of the delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.

From 2009 to 2016, he was a Councilor in the Kumanovo Municipality Council, and from 2012 to 2016, he was the President of the Kumanovo Municipality Council.
