George Ioakeimidis was born and raised in the neighbourhoods of Piraeus.

He has graduated from the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (E.M.P.)

As self employed, he created his own Technical Office in Rentis and was engaged in studies/constructions. At the same time, he was teaching at the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (E.M.P) an "Anti-Earthquake Technology" course.

From 1994 until today, (2023) he serves the Local Government, being elected for eight (8) consecutive times as Mayor, initially in the Municipality of Rentis and since 2010 in the unified Municipality of Nikaia-Ag. I. Renti, having election rates 60% and above.

He was the President of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Attica (P.EDA) between the years 1998-1999. For more than 20 years he is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE) has been defined as President of almost all the statutory Committees of KEDE and is the leader of faction "NEA AFTODIOIKISI".

He participated for a number of years in the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association for Local Development and Self-Government (E.ETAA.A.) and the National Center for Public Administration and Self-Government (E.K.D.D.A) and was a member of the 4-member delegation of KEDE to the Union of Municipalities and of Regions of Europe (CERM) and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (C.L.R.A.E.) of the Council of Europe.
