Mr. Charalambos Kalos was born and raised in Lefkada.

He studied at the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was then accepted, among 16 other students from all over the world, at the University of Stirling in Scotland to specialize in Ichthyopathology. As part of his master's degree research, he was able to reproduce in the laboratory monoclonal antibodies against a specific bacterium, a pioneering fact for his time.

Although he had proposals for an international professional and academic career, he consciously chose to return and be active in his birthplace.

In 2008, he continued his studies by obtaining another postgraduate diploma in Business Administration, MBA, with an Honors degree.

Mr. Kalos has been working since 1998 as a Veterinarian - Fish Pathologist in leading companies in the fish farming sector in Greece and abroad, having held positions of responsibility.

From 1999 until his election in 2019, he provided veterinary services at the private "Veterinary Clinic of Lefkada", together with the veterinarian Mrs. Konstantina Papachristou.

He has attended, in Greece and abroad, a number of workshops, conferences and trainings related to the subject of his studies. He is a member of pan-Hellenic and European bodies. Also, as a volunteer veterinarian, he is in charge of the Cetacean Rescue and Care Research Center, ARION, for the wider area of Lefkada.

He was an athlete of the Lefkada Gymnastics Club and Doxa Lefkada and a member of the dance department of the New Choir, while being a member of the Boards of Directors of sports and other clubs.

He is married to the veterinarian Konstantina Papachristou, and they have two daughters, Naya and Suzana.
