Mehmet Siyam Kesimoğlu

Mayor of Kırklareli

Mehmet Siyam Kesimoğlu was born on March 7, 1960 in Vize, Kırklareli. Kesimoğlu graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences in 1983.

He served as a Consultant at the Ministry of Tourism and held various senior positions in the private and public sectors. Kesimoğlu also served as the President of the Mülkiyeliler Birliği, President of the Foundation of the Mülkiyeliler Birliği, 2nd President of the Foundation of the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, and the President of the Kırklareli Culture and Solidarity Association.

He was elected as Kırklareli MP in the 22nd term and became the Chairman of the Turkey-Estonia Parliamentary Friendship Group in that period. In the election held on June 12, 2011, Kesimoğlu was again the 24th Term Member of Parliament from Kırklareli. He was nominated as the Mayor of Kırklareli from CHP on February 1, 2014, and was elected as the Mayor.

At the end of his 5-year term, he participated in the March 31, 2019 elections as an Independent Candidate and was re-elected as the Mayor of Kırklareli. Kesimoğlu, who became a CHP member again with the invitation of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the support he received from the people of Kırklareli, continues his duty as the Mayor.

Mr. Kesimoğlu is married and has one child.
