Lazaros Maloutas is the current Mayor of Kozani. He elected in 2019 for a term of four years.

He served again as mayor during the term 2009-2014, while in the period from 2014 to 2019 he was the leader of the major opposition in the Municipal Council.

Since 1990 he has been continuously elected Municipal Councilor with active participation in a series of initiatives and activities.

During this period he was:

• Chairman of the Board of the Municipal Library
• Deputy Mayor for Environment & Cleaning
• Deputy Mayor in charge of Urban Planning issues
• President of the Waste Management Company of Western Macedonia
• Deputy Mayor for Technical Works

Mr. Maloutas has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During his working life he served in the fields of Environment and Development serving in various positions.

He was born in 1956 in Kozani, where he lives permanently.
