George Papanastasiou is the Mayor of Agrinio and the President of the Department “Energy, Environment, & Waste Management” of KEDE tbc. He is a Greek Electrical Engineer and politician.

He earned a master in Environment, Disaster and Crisis Management Strategies from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineer from the Democritus University of Thrace.

He served as President at the Aitoloakarnanian branch of Technical Chamber of Greece and as a member of the Steering Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece. He also served as a Deputy Commander of the University General Hospital of Patras and as President of the Regional Association of Municipalities of Western Greece (PED).

He was born in 1966, in Agrinio. He is married with two children.
