Grigoris Stamkos

Mayor of Pella

Mr Grigorios Stamkos is 60 years old. He is an agronomist and specialized in the economy of agricultural production. He is the first mayor of the new Municipality of Pella, since the implementation of the program Kallikratis, with major experience in the administration, on which he capitalized for the organization and operation of the municipality based on new models.

He was born in Giannitsa and grew up in a family focusing on the principles of modesty, honesty and sedulity. He is the nephew of the dearly departed doctor and mayor Mr Konstantinos Stamkos and Mr Grigorios’ Stamkos grandson, who was assassinated by the troops during the occupation in 1944, at the point where the martyrs’ mass grave of the resistance stands today.

Grigorios Stamkos: Graduate from the department of Agronomy (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), in the sector of Agricultural Economy, Planning and Sociology. Consultant – researcher on agricultural exploitations. He worked for the Agricultural Cooperative in Old Mylotopos and for the Union of the Agricultural Cooperatives in Giannitsa. He performed as a hospital manager for the Hospital in Veroia and for the Hospital “Georgios Gennimatas” in Thessaloniki. He is a member of the Board of directors of Anaptyxiaki Pellas, Vice President of the network “Sustainable City” and member of the committee “Organization and e-government” of the Central Union of the Municipalities in Greece (KEDE).

He has two children, Irene and Sotiris, with his wife, Nana Chatzilamprinou, economist.
