Born in 1966 in Karditsa, married to teacher Eleni Koumanaki and father of two children. From his student-young years, he was involved with the commons in the student and student movement. Teacher by profession with participation in many conferences in Greece and abroad on education issues and more. As an educator, he was involved for a long time with trade union affairs as an elected member of PYSPE and DOE. In 2009, he was elected first nationwide with the DAKE ballot in the Teaching Federation of Greece, serving as treasurer. He was President of NODE Karditsa, elected by the grassroots. In the regional elections of 2010, he was elected Deputy Regional Governor of the Karditsa Regional Unit, a position he held until 2019. In the 2019 self-governing elections, he was elected Mayor of Karditsa with the combination "Karditsa, our place" and from September 1, 2019, he assumed the leadership of the Municipality.
